Heol Rhedyn – Newtown

Whilst being an undeveloped piece of land, it was sandwiched on all sides by one of the largest housing estates in Wales. This meant that adding 50 houses here needed to be carefully handled, to stitch them into the community.

Whilst the new development is connected to the larger estate by footpaths which crisscross the site, the scheme was conceived as a self-contained village, with generous areas of green space. A new play area is provided for the whole estate to use, and the whole site has been re-planted with native trees, hedgerows and wildflowers to provide wildlife habitats.
